Upload is one of the most used features in a document management system. The smart uploader is a tool that makes uploading quick and convenient for the users.

To upload a single document or a set of documents, users simply need to initiate the smart uploader which looks just like the standard windows upload screen. They can browse their PC and select documents they want to upload.

As the users add documents they are temporarily stored in a stack. When the user has added all the documents to be uploaded to the stack and is ready to upload the documents, he can simply click the Upload button. Here the system takes over and uploads the documents one by one. A status bar in the uploader shows the real time status of the upload.

Once the upload is complete, the user is provided an option to select keywords for the files uploaded. This information is stored as meta data in the system. 

Before the upload starts, the user has the option to remove certain selected files or to remove all the files in one go. The upload can be aborted at any time during the upload process.

Once the files are uploaded, newly uploaded files are displayed with a ‘New’ Notification for 2 days. The newly uploaded files inherit the access rules of the parent folder till they are changed manually in the file properties section.
