DMSLite comes with an inbuilt administrator profile that can never be deleted. This profile has owner level rights on the entire DMS folders and files. If required, the admin can duplicate his profile to delegate responsibilities

Every time a file is created in a folder, the file automatically takes the access rights of the folder in which it was created. This makes access management easy as the user need not define access rules every time he adds or uploads a file to the system

Assigning users and user groups as visitors, members and owners is very easy. The access matrix can be accessed on the rights click menu from where you can browse through users and user groups to assign them the privileges

There may be scenarios where a user needs to have access to all files in a folder barring one.  In such a scenario, an override facility is provided. This means that a file in a folder can have different access rights from the folder it belongs. For e.g. the folder owner has owner privileges on all the contained files except one file where he has only view rights
